Job Summary

The Department of Natural Resources is seeking to fill one Management Analyst 2 / Facilities Data Analyst position. This position exists to provide professional, technical, and analytical support to the Buildings Program by utilizing and managing the DNR Project Management and Enterprise Facility Database systems which contributes to DNR's operations efficiency, delivery of services, and implementation of legislative and executive mandates. This position will prepare reports and documents to be used for strategic planning and will make recommendations to improve processes and procedures related to increased efficiency of the Buildings Program. This position provides training and instruction to other DNR staff on use, changes, and upgrades to the Project Management Database.

This position has a flexible work arrangement and may be eligible to telework on a part-time basis which is subject to change. If approved, the employee would be required to complete an annual telework agreement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated experience managing data, querying databases, performing quantitative analysis, creating data visualizations, and/ or analyzing and reporting on data.
    • A bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, social or physical sciences, computer sciences, construction management, natural resources management, or related fields may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a variety of individuals, groups, and issues both independently and as a team.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, and/ or Access, sufficient to manage, summarize, and present data.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize database software applications sufficient to input and retrieve information from various sources, construct tables and graphs, and perform matches between data sets.
  • Experience with conducting and/or evaluation operational processes, policies, and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency and make recommendations for change.
  • Ability to conduct project planning and management.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong communication skills sufficient to prepare and present reports and ideas in a professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, social or physical sciences, construction management, or related fields
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Access.
  • Experience with process/ quality improvement principles and practices.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Experience with statistical or financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of building management, maintenance, and construction practices.
  • Knowledge or experience with public sector procurement or accounting.
