Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Mechanical Equipment Technician at our lab located in Tonawanda, NY.
This position is a full-time, hourly role with a normal schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. This position is on-site. The Mechanical Equipment Technician is responsible for repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment used in laboratory and pilot testing for manufacturing processes. The technician will support the lab manager and process engineers in the drying, blending, evaporating and/or flaking of products in both batch and continuous scenarios.
Pay range for this position is $24 - $26 per hour.
Requirements:
What you'll do:
- Oversee the set-up of equipment, provide assistance in product testing, record/interpret data, clean-up equipment and ship materials
- Keep equipment operational by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventative maintenance; maintaining supplies
- Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness and established regulations.
- Participate in customer interactions during testing process
- Coordinate the acceptance and removal of testing materials
What you're required to have:
- Associates degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in order to satisfactorily complete the job duties of this role;
- 4 years of relevant experience with process equipment/machinery, chemical or biology experience a plus
- Experience with technical customer service preferred;
- Ability to positively interact with customers in various situations;
