Job Title: Facilities and Maintenance Manager

Job Summary
The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of the manufacturing facility, ensuring that all equipment, infrastructure, and systems are in optimal working order. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, rapid resolution of technical issues, and continuous improvement initiatives to support a safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all plant machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance activities that minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, including technicians and support personnel.
- Conduct regular training sessions on equipment operation, safety protocols, and maintenance best practices.
- Evaluate team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Budgeting & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance and facilities budget.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Oversee inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure that all maintenance activities and facility operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facility systems and equipment.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve facility operations, energy efficiency, and maintenance processes.
- Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Emergency Response & Crisis Management
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for facility-related incidents.
- Lead rapid response efforts during emergencies to minimize damage and ensure safety.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of experience in facilities management or maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in managing maintenance programs, leading teams, and overseeing large-scale facility operations.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other maintenance management software.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and best practices in facility maintenance and safety.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting with high production demands.
- Certification in facilities management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA) or maintenance management (e.g., CMRP) is a plus.
- Experience implementing lean maintenance and continuous improvement programs.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperature conditions.
- Occasional on-call responsibilities for emergency maintenance issues.
