Nationwide Children s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine are seeking an Infectious Diseases physician to serve as the Medical Director of the Family AIDS Clinic and Educational Services (FACES) Program.
The FACES Program is a family-centered wrap around clinic that sees patients of all ages. Critical to the role will be experience working with adults with substance use disorder and mental health concerns. The Program team participates in national quality improvement committees, has written performance measures for HRSA, and has won several awards for their clinical quality improvement program. The Medical Director is expected to take an active role on clinical committees to fulfill grant requirements and establish best practices.
In addition to engaging in the clinical and academic activities of the Division of Infectious Diseases, the Medical Director will work alongside the operational leaders and support research, outreach within FACES, and training within quality improvement.
Qualified candidates for this position must be board certified or board eligible in IM and/or Pediatrics. The ideal candidate will be an infectious diseases trained individual who has experience in the treatment and management of adult and pediatric HIV. This will include the management of infants born to mothers with HIV and Hepatitis C. Additionally, experience with HIV clinical research along with grant funded research is desirable.
The Section of Infectious Diseases consists of 18 clinical faculty who work closely with the Clinical
Microbiology Laboratory Director and two Assistant Directors (all PhDs) and 20 research faculty with established laboratory research programs in the Centers for Microbial Pathogenesis, Vaccines and Immunity, and Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute.
