What We're Looking For: The Strategic Partnership Outreach Coordinator (SPOC) initiates, plans, and coordinates all Agency efforts to increase programmatic support, partnerships, and outreach. The SPOC will identify new opportunities and cultivate relationships to maximize program funding opportunities and enhance programmatic outreach. This SPOC will develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive strategic community engagement plan.
The SPOC will work as a key member of the External Affairs team, reporting to the Director of External Affairs. This position will collaborate with program leadership, maintain relationships with existing and potential partners, and contribute to the strategic growth of community outreach events and community partners to promote CSI's programs and services. The SPOC will develop a solid foundational understanding of the Agency and its programs and services; honor the past and present Agency work, learn about the Early Care and Education industry, and the communities we serve to ensure high-quality community and programmatic outreach. The SPOC will act as a dependable and trustworthy ambassador of CSI.
Assistance provided by the SPOC includes the delivery of quality work in the following areas:
Key Responsibilities - Lead in developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive strategic community outreach plan to promote and support CSI programs and services.
- Manage the development of partnerships and program funding opportunities by researching and presenting prospective new partnerships, cultivating new relationships, and strengthening existing relationships with businesses, foundations, and nonprofit agencies that align with CSI's values, goals, and programs.
- Coordinate and attend meetings between partners/potential partners/program funders and CSI leadership.
- Work closely with program teams to support the mission and organizational goals, especially for specific partner initiatives and events; limited local and statewide travel as needed to support program and partner initiatives.
- Proactively identify, develop, and broaden the scope of the Agency's resources and collaborative community engagement opportunities through strategic relationship building, community meetings and events, cold calling and other means of networking.
- Work with the Communications team to craft written and visual materials, including community partner appeals and marketing collateral, to support CSI's outreach efforts. Develop strong and effective culturally sensitive material to promote program services and increase corporate visibility throughout the Crystal Stairs catchment area.
- Research and order programs promotional items and print materials; work in collaboration with External Affairs and Purchasing Departments to ensure adherence to agency guidelines and procurement procedures.
- Research and identify new outreach opportunities by determining highly concentrated populations to conduct outreach services.
- Regularly maintain a secure database of community partnerships, and outreach efforts; assist with data tracking, reporting, and acknowledgements.
- Create various resource generating campaigns that support the Agency's overall mission and strategic initiatives.
- Provide leadership and support in planning and execution of special events (i.e. Dance for Dads, Dancing Under the Stars, Stand for Children Day, Parent Empowerment Day).
- Represent the agency at various local events, community-based agencies and businesses, schools, and other public venues, events, and meetings
- Conduct agency presentations; participate in workgroups, committees and ad hoc groups as necessary; act as a liaison with agencies.
- Assist in coordinating agency outreach events and/or presentations; ensure events are posted on agency outreach event calendar; provide timely event information/contact to event support staff.
- Maintain a tracking system for all outreach activities/contacts and expenditures; prepare required monthly service data reports; including reporting to assess quantitative outcomes on outreach effectiveness.
- Respond to requests for information or services; provide supportive and referral services to appropriate programs; maintain ongoing communication with and support to appropriate agency Leadership.
- Provide support to specially funded projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Education, Skills, and Experience - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent with a focus on sales, business development, communications or marketing; or equivalent experience in relationship management, business development, sales, or communications and marketing.
- Minimum 3 years of professional community outreach and partnership cultivation, development work, and/or marketing and communications, or sales experience preferred. Communications or development experience for a community-based organization preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven track record of success in cultivation and maintenance and management of healthy, active partnerships and relationships. Proven ability to maintain positive relationships with a variety of personalities inside and outside an agency.
- Able to show success in planning, execution, and ROI of community outreach and agency-hosted events.
- Must be an analytical thinker, have excellent professional and interpersonal communication skills, writing skills, and possess good customer relations and customer service.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational and presentation skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite; and other databases/CRM platforms for information tracking and project management. Experience with Kindful is a plus.
- Must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; prioritizing urgent tasks when the need arises.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment with a positive attitude, willing to help and support other employees and departments, engage in staff events, and demonstrate company values.
- Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and reactions of people from diverse backgrounds and with different needs.
