Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for a one-year, full-time experimental physics position beginning August 2025. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory-level physics courses as well as upper-level Advanced Physics Lab and Fluid Mechanics. Course modalities will be in person. The teaching load consists of 12 contact hours per semester. The individual in this position also has the responsibility of the RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) of the Department of Physical Sciences and Co-coordinator of the Central Eastern Regional Science Olympiad.
Undergraduate courses to be taught include: PHYS 40 Lecture and Labs, PHYS 42 Lecture and Labs, PHYS 315, and ENGR 330.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a master's degree in physics, along with three years of college-level experience in teaching introductory and upper-level physics, is required. Experience in coordinating the organization of a regional Science Olympiad-type event is also required.
