Full-Time Dental / Anaesthetic Nurse
Leeds
Salary dependent on experience 40 hours per week 4-day working week Monday to Friday 1 in 4 weekends
Are you a passionate and experienced RVN with a keen interest in dentistry and anaesthesia? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary hospital, where you'll play a key role in our busy surgical and dental services.
This hospital is a 24-hour, family-run, RCVS-accredited facility, providing emergency services and referrals. Since opening in 2012, they have grown to a team of over 70 dedicated colleagues. They support 19 referring veterinary practices across the region, offering a wide range of referral services including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, oncology, laparoscopy, endoscopy, advanced imaging such as CT and ultrasonography, and a thriving dental practice covering first opinion, preventative, and referral dentistry.
They are now looking for an RVN with a passion for dentistry and anaesthesia to join the team. In this role, you will primarily coordinate dental clinics, oversee the purpose-built IM3 dental suite, and provide high-level anaesthetic support for dental cases. You will maintain and organise the dental suite, ensure all equipment is in excellent working order, and manage stock and consumables.
Working closely with a Post Graduate Certificate-holding Veterinary Surgeon in Dentistry, you will help deliver and develop the growing dentistry services, assisting with routine and advanced procedures. Your enthusiasm for dentistry and client education will be essential, as you will participate in post-op rechecks, general oral health clinics, and help pet owners improve their pets' dental care at home. There is also an opportunity to lead in-house dental CPD for the team, covering topics such as instrument care and common dental conditions, to keep dentistry a high-profile service throughout the hospital.
They seek someone experienced in dental radiography with a genuine interest in developing their skills further. Ideally, you will hold or be working towards a nursing certificate in dentistry. Experience with advanced procedures like interdental wiring or temporary crown extensions is advantageous but not essential. More important is your drive to develop the dentistry service, manage referrals, coordinate diary bookings, and support the growth and evolution of the department.
In return, they offer a supportive environment with access to in-house training from a team of veterinary and nursing certificate holders. Benefits include paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVNA), a generous CPD allowance with support for further qualifications, pension, income protection, and life insurance.
If you are an experienced, motivated RVN ready to take ownership of a dynamic, expanding dental nursing role within a supportive, expert-led team, we would love to hear from you.
