We are currently seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal with fluency in Spanish to join our dynamic team.


Position Overview:

As an Immigration Paralegal at Birg Law, you will play a crucial role in preparing and managing a wide range of immigration cases. You will work closely with attorneys and directly with clients, ensuring that all applications and legal documents are accurate, timely, and complete. Spanish fluency is required to effectively communicate with a large portion of our client base.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file family-based and employment-based immigration petitions (e.g., I-130, I-485, N-400, I-601A, I-765, I-131, I-129F, I-539, I-140, PERM, etc.)
  • Draft affidavits, client declarations, cover letters, and supporting documents
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates
  • Translate documents and interpret during client meetings if needed
  • Maintain accurate case files and update case management software
  • Track deadlines, prepare filing packets, and monitor case progress
  • Conduct legal research and assist attorneys with case strategies
  • Prepare evidence packets for USCIS interviews, EOIR hearings, and consular processing
  • Liaise with USCIS, EOIR, NVC, and other government agencies
  • Ensure compliance with immigration procedures and timelines

  • Requirements:
    • Minimum 10 years of experience as an immigration paralegal
    • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
    • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and immigration case management systems Docketwise
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
    • Strong client service and communication skills
    • Positive attitude and commitment to helping clients

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certification
    • Experience with humanitarian cases (asylum, VAWA, U Visas, TPS) is a plus
    • Knowledge of EOIR and removal defense processes
