The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Finance and Operations is a vital member of the Executive Leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the firm's internal operations. This individual will provide strategic and operational leadership across Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology. The EVP will ensure strong financial management and business operations that supports the firm's people, client partners, and growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a small, collaborative agency environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a lean, fast-paced setting where flexibility, initiative, and a team-first mindset are essential. Experience in a professional services firm or agency setting is critical for understanding the operational nuances and client-driven dynamics of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting

  • Oversee the Accounting Manager and lead the finance and accounting functions, including AP/AR, banking, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee accurate, timely preparation of financial statements and compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Develop financial models and provide strategic insight to support executive decision-making.
  • Develop relationships with internal client teams, understanding client-specific details and nuances in the administration of their accounts.
  • Manage external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions.

Human Resources

  • Oversee the HR Manager with responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, benefits, performance management, and compliance.
  • Manage employee relations and champion a people-centered culture that values transparency, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure HRIS systems are well-managed and provide accurate and timely information and support.

Information Technology

  • Oversee the IT Manager to ensure the firm's IT systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to implement solutions that enhance productivity and support growth.

Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic partner on the executive leadership team, contributing to firm-wide strategy, planning and decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a small team of direct reports, promoting a collaborative and mission-driven work environment.
  • Cultivate and lead an operations management team that supports internal operations, client partners and the overall health of the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant, progressive professional experience with deep expertise in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in an agency, consulting, or professional services firm is required.
  • Strong understanding of small-business operations and the ability to embrace a "roll up your sleeves" approach.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational improvement.
