Director Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle execution of executive searches with minimal oversight, including candidate sourcing, evaluation, and client delivery
- Manage all aspects of candidate engagement-from outreach and interviews to offer negotiations-with autonomy and precision
- Serve as the key point of contact for clients, driving strategy and leading regular updates, communications, and advisory conversations
- Own end-to-end search delivery, making independent decisions on candidate selection and process flow
- Play a pivotal role in building client relationships and independently originating and closing new engagements in alignment with individual business development goals
- Guide and mentor Analysts and Associates, providing day-to-day direction, developmental feedback, and quality control
- Own the creation and final review of all candidate and client deliverables-including scorecards, job specifications, and background summaries-partnering with junior team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the search strategy
- Collaborate closely with Partners, leadership, and research counterparts to ensure strong pipeline development, clear communication, and aligned execution throughout the search process
- Engage cross-functionally with peers and leaders to contribute to firm-building initiatives and help refine best practices across the execution and client management function
Director Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-5+ years of executive search experience, ideally, with a track record of independently driving and closing high-level searches
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent search processes with little day-to-day guidance from senior leadership
- CEO and CFO functional specialization strongly preferred, with openness to experienced generalists who have delivered across executive functions
- Deep knowledge of SaaS and/or private equity-backed businesses strongly preferred
- Strong communication and advisory skills; comfortable managing client expectations and influencing decision-making
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members, preferred
- Demonstrated success or strong aptitude in business development-ready to flex into a client-facing, revenue-generating role
