Executive Protection Driver - Manhattan, NY

The Executive Protection Driver ensures the safe transportation and security of the company's top executives, especially the CEO. Based in Manhattan, the role involves providing logistical support, conducting security advances, maintaining the vehicle fleet, planning routes, and performing security duties. The driver also supports security and safety programs at headquarters and field offices and builds relationships with stakeholders. This role could involve after hours and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executive Protection & Transportation: Provide secure transportation and comprehensive protection to high-level executives, including logistical support and advance security assessments of planned locations.
- Proactive Security Measures: Implement proactive strategies to guarantee the safety and security of the executive.
- Fleet Management: Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicles (interior and exterior).
- Route Optimization: Monitor traffic and road conditions, and proactively plan alternate routes for timely and efficient transportation.
- Corporate Security Support: Assist the Corporate Security group with security duties as needed.
- Regional Security & Events: Provide security and safety support during senior leadership events within the region.
- Physical Security & Reviews: Participate in physical security reviews, updates, and projects across headquarters and field locations.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, public safety agencies, law enforcement, intelligence resources, and private sector security counterparts.
- Firearms Proficiency: Maintain expert-level proficiency in firearm handling, use, and maintenance, adhering strictly to all applicable laws, company policies, and use-of-force protocols, including proper storage and reporting procedures.
Key Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization
- BA/BS or equivalent, preferred
- Executive protection experience
- Excellent driving record
- Must be able to successfully complete the following: Annual Executive Protection Training, Evasive Driving Techniques, Armed Security Officer (ASO), CPR and AED training
- Firearm certification and licensing as required by local, state, and federal law or be certified and licensed within 90 days of employment
- Strong office/corporate skills: advanced communication skills, strong computer skills
- Strict confidentiality, professionalism, dependability and situational sensitivity
- Experience managing a highly changeable calendar with extreme tact and diplomacy
- Strong judgment, decision making, time management, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work extended and weekend hours
