Herdt is seeking an accomplished Executive Director of Intelligent Automation & Enterprise Data Innovation to lead a high-impact portfolio of digital transformation initiatives across Department of Defense (DoD) financial and operational domains. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: This role will provide strategic oversight and technical leadership for enterprise systems modernization, intelligent process automation, advanced analytics, and agile solution development efforts. This leader will serve as a key architect in optimizing financial systems integration, enhancing auditability, and reducing operational risk-driving enduring innovation across one of the largest and most complex financial environments in the federal government. Core Responsibilities: Financial Systems Modernization & Data Integration: Lead the strategic migration of legacy accounting, personnel, and logistics systems into modern ERP platforms, ensuring accurate and timely data transformation. Design enterprise-level architectures and cross-system integrations that support financial management, logistics, personnel, and travel processes. Oversee the development of role-based training programs, knowledge assets, and collaborative platforms to accelerate end-user adoption and capability uplift. Champion the use of data visualization, real-time dashboards, and performance analytics to improve executive decision-making and accountability. Automation & Innovation Leadership: Direct the implementation of intelligent automation frameworks using technologies such as UiPath, Power Automate, and custom scripting to reduce manual intervention and eliminate improper payments. Identify and institutionalize repeatable process improvements across budgeting, disbursements, audit readiness, and compliance tracking functions. Oversee enterprise-wide testing, validation, and reconciliation protocols to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance (e.g., IPERA, IPERIA). Lead cross-functional innovation teams that integrate agile delivery, advanced analytics, and data engineering for scalable modernization efforts. Basic Qualifications: 15+ years of progressive leadership in federal financial systems, ERP transformation, intelligent automation, or enterprise data architecture. Deep expertise in DoD systems, policies, and compliance frameworks related to finance, audit, and operational readiness. Demonstrated experience in implementing robotic process automation (RPA), intelligent workflows, and enterprise data integrations. Advanced proficiency in ERP platforms (e.g., SAP ECC/S4HANA), ADVANA/JUPITER, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and Python. Strong command of Agile/SAFe methodologies and solution delivery best practices in secure, high-impact environments. Preferred certifications: PMP, CISA, CDPSE, CEH, SAFe DevOps Practitioner, ICP. Requirements and Qualifications: Must be a US citizen Candidates must possess, or be eligible to receive, US DoD Secret-level Security Clearance Ideal candidates should possess Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering , Mathematics, or Information Systems.
