POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible and accountable to the Vice President, Planning, Design & Construction for the management of all capital projects associated with the implementation of the University Health System Master Facility Plan (MFP), Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), and real estate management. The position will be supervised by the Vice President, Planning, Design & Construction to assure accountability of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) to ongoing hospital and ambulatory operations. Responsibilities include, but not be limited to: the development of a capital implementation plan involving procurement and oversight/coordination of all construction to ensure the goals of planning, design, budgets, schedules and construction are met within the established timeline for the MFP. Works closely with other senior health system staff, physician leadership as well as business and community partners to assure timely and accurate management of all tasks associated with the implementation of the MFP and associated projects. Provides leadership and day-to-day operational oversight to all phases of the MFP to ensure long term, cost-effective functionality. Ensures that capital project management processes and reporting enables University Health System to complete the Master Facility Plan and other projects on time and within budget. Effectively protects the Health System's interests in capital projects and, working collaboratively with budget and finance staff, ensures appropriate fiscal controls for capital projects for presentation to the President/Chief Executive Officer, senior leadership and the Board of Managers

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Masters degree or equivalency is preferred. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required. Architectural & Engineering; A&E Consulting; Engineering & Construction; P/L (Project Leader); Contract Management and Administration; Construction Management experience is required
