Title: Executive Director
Reports to: Board of Directors

Location: Ridgway, In office and field work as needed
Employment Type: Full-time, Salary, Exempt - Salary Range (depending on experience and qualifications) $65,000 to $80,000 + Generous Benefits Package

Job Summary

The Executive Director oversees the organization's planning and operations, ensuring alignment with its mission and goals. This role provides leadership and supports the Board of Directors in goal setting, resource allocation, and policy establishment. The Executive Director fosters an inclusive and innovative culture among staff and youth. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic, established and well regarded youth focused organization in the beautiful town of Ridgway, serving Ouray County, Colorado.

Major Responsibilities

  • Work with the Board of Directors to facilitate goal setting and policy development, as well as leadership for continuous board development.
  • Be the dynamic leader to inspire staff to achieve organizational goals. Develop policies, procedures and processes to ensure state and local requirements are met.
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, financial/budget analysis, asset management, payroll, expenditure approval, and compliance.
  • Direct staffing activities, including recruitment, training, supervision, retention, and evaluation to meet organizational goals.
  • Monitor and approve program activities, ensuring mission achievement and adherence to program parameters.
  • Build relationships with community partners, government agencies, and stakeholders with the goal of improving mission aligned activities.
  • Lead fundraising activities including cultivation and solicitation of individual, business and grant based contributions. Meet the requirements of funding agreements and provide reports as needed.

Relationships

  • Internal: Maintain positive contact with Board, staff, program participants (youth and parents), and volunteers.
  • External: Culturally responsive and inclusive engagement with donors, community groups, parents, schools, and businesses.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, human development, business, or a related field.
  • Preferred Early Education Certifications and qualifications include: Large Child Care Center Director credential, Early Childhood Teacher Certification, 3+ years experience in an Early Childhood program and/or a minimum three years of youth programming experience.
  • Minimum three years of non-profit or business management in a youth centered environment. Direct supervision experience with a team of 6+ members, with a minimum of two years in a leadership role. Managerial accounting experience including asset management. Strong understanding of non-profit principles, management, and funding. Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
  • ATOD prevention experience preferred.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license, clean driving record, First Aid & CPR certification and Colorado required training for Early Educators (can be obtained upon hire).
  • Some travel required for training.
  • Must pass background check
