ABOUT ALL FIVE:
All Five is an innovative, intentionally socioeconomically diverse early childhood education program committed to building an equitable society beginning with the first five years of life.
We believe all families, no matter their background, should have access to high-quality early childhood education for their children in a nurturing and respectful learning community. All Five is currently serving up to 90 children with high-quality and socioeconomically diverse early childhood education and is a model program respected across the bay area, the country, and globally.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Executive Director is the leader of All Five and is responsible for sustaining and advocating for the vision and mission of All Five, developing and implementing the organization's strategy, overseeing the center's operations, ensuring licensure compliance, coaching and developing staff, building strong relationships with families and community partners, engaging with donors, maintaining NAEYC accreditation, and sharing the impactful story of All Five.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a high-quality program
- Implement and monitor program evaluations to ensure high-quality educational practices and adherence to developmental standards.
- Integrate culturally responsive practices and support early intervention strategies for children with special needs.
- Organize and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance teaching practices and program quality.
- Work with the teaching and leadership teams, collect and utilize data to promote greater equity and efficacy, including tuition subsidy program required assessments, staff surveys, annual family survey, family exit interviews, alumni family data surveys, and alumni outcomes via shared school district data.
- Lead and develop an excellent teaching staff.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the teaching team and Program Leads, fostering a culture of professional growth and reflective practice.
- Maintain and ensure operational excellence.
- Working with the Finance and Operations Director, develop and manage an annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and effective allocation of resources.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with local licensing regulations, County subsidy tuition contracts, and NAEYC accreditation standards.
- Engage all families in a meaningful way.
- Build strong relationships with families, encouraging participation and collaboration through regular communication and community events.
- Working with the Family Director, promote family involvement in the center through outreach initiatives and volunteer opportunities.
- Build partnerships and fundraise to sustain the program.
- Share the story of All Five's mission and impact through fundraising initiatives, marketing outreach, and public policy advocacy.
- Working with the Development and Communications Manager, cultivate relationships with donors and community partners to secure funding and enhance community support (philanthropy constitutes 34% of All Five's budget).

SKILLS:
- Genuine enthusiasm for children and families coupled with a creative mindset.
- Good interpersonal skills, including good communication, good listening skills, empathy, and humor.
- Strong background in coaching and mentoring.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management, including the ability to multi-task and remain flexible with schedules.
- Ability to engage in physical activities associated with leading children's play and learning.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Well-versed in developmentally appropriate assessment methods, including Desired Results Developmental Profile, Classroom Assessment Scoring System, Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, and NAEYC accreditation process.
- Understand requirements to report child abuse.
- Comfortable using a tablet or iPad and computer.
- Well-versed about the Emergent Curriculum approach to curriculum development.
- Experience navigating licensing requirements and reporting.
- Title V Code of Regulations familiarity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bend, kneel, and otherwise interact with small children; be able to spend time on bent knees to continue eye contact with them.
- Sit on the floor with children.
- Lift and hold children up to 40 pounds and lift equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Move your body up and down from the floor to standing, from small chairs to standing, quickly and frequently.
- Successfully pass a physical exam, including a negative TB test or questionnaire, and provide proof of immunization for pertussis, measles, covid, and flu.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This role is in person, on-site 5 days a week ( All Five operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday)
- Able to work occasional evenings and Saturdays as outlined in the school calendar and Board calendar.
- Both indoors and outdoors in children's play areas, including during cold or rainy weather and hot and sunny weather.
- Regular exposure to children's illnesses.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Program Director permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related subject required, Master's degree preferred.
- Show pursuit of ongoing professional growth opportunities.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience managing an early childhood education center.
- Previous experience working with a diverse population of families and children.
OTHER:
- Complete/pass fingerprint screening.
