About the Role The Company is seeking an Executive Director for COM Administration and Operations to serve as the Chief of Staff to the Executive Dean of the College of Medicine and CEO of the University of Illinois Hospitals and Clinics. This senior leadership role involves a wide range of management and technical assignments, including executive decision-making, strategic relationship-building, and the management of external partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing, advising, and providing day-to-day support to the Executive Dean and CEO, as well as ensuring effective communication and integration across the enterprise. Duties also include managing special projects, handling privileged and confidential information, and supervising the administrative staff within the Dean's Office. Applicants must have a Master's degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 10 years of experience in a managerial role, and a demonstrated understanding of the higher education structure. The role requires strong project management skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and diplomacy. The Executive Director will also be involved in the recruitment and retention of senior leaders, conducting performance reviews, and setting and monitoring goals for the Dean's direct reports.
