An upscale casual Italian restaurant in Silicon Valley is seeking a Sous Chef to help lead their culinary team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years in a Sous Chef or BOH leadership role in high-volume($4M) or upscale casual restaurants
- Strong cooking technique, plating standards, and commitment to food quality
- Ability to lead, coach, and manage a team of 20+ kitchen staff
- Familiarity with Italian cuisine preferred; ability to learn and pronounce Italian terms required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Non-Negotiables:
- Oversee food prep, line execution, cleanliness, and adherence to 5-star service and food safety standards
- Manage daily BOH operations including scheduling, staffing, and labor cost monitoring
- Conduct interviews, complete new hire onboarding, lead performance reviews, and provide disciplinary feedback as needed
- Place accurate weekly orders, manage inventory, and minimize spoilage
- Uphold compliance with safety, sanitation, and internal SOPs
