MCA has an immediate opening for an Executive Assistant to the Lower School Principal.

Summary

The Executive Assistant to the Lower School Principal ensures smooth, day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment by:
  • Independently and collaboratively managing administrative tasks to support both the principal and the Lower School team
  • Facilitating clear, timely communication among staff, parents, and stakeholders
  • Anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively
  • Upholding the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and professionalism at all times
This role combines strong organizational skills with proactive problem-solving to keep the lower school running seamlessly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must work well with young children and pre-adolescents
  • Oversee daily lower school operations, including staff coverage, facilities scheduling, and responding to general inquiries and questions
  • Exercise good judgment on staff and student matters using discretion and confidentiality
  • Manage incoming email, phone calls, mail, and other correspondence: route, attach files, and prepare items for the principal's response
  • Coordinate the principal's calendar, appointments, and visitor check-ins
  • Handle purchasing, budget allocations, invoices, and liaison with the business office for funds and reimbursements
  • Arrange substitute coverage for breaks or staff absences, which may include after-hours requests for staff with last-minute absences due to illness or emergencies
  • Organize events and meetings-field trips, Parent/Teacher Conferences, chapel, picture day-with scheduling, agendas, facilities, and minute-taking
  • Coordinate student placements: interviews, kindergarten assessments, and student-teacher partnerships
  • Maintain record-keeping systems: files, grade books, calendars, and weekly announcements
  • Distribute communications and materials: mailings, birthday/prayer cards, curriculum, and assessment resources.
  • Support Summer & X-tended Day supply ordering, and field trip/bus scheduling.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provide student supervision as needed to ensure a safe, orderly environment
  • Support behavior management by implementing positive rewards, addressing complaints, and resolving issues during supervisory duties

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree; or three or more years of equivalent related experience

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or be willing to train on Microsoft Office, Database software, order processing systems, grading and assignment software, collaboration software, Excel spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
