Hiring Range: $63,227 - $75,000
Full Pay Range: $63,227 - $94,840

Work Schedule: 4-day work week, 7:30am - 5:30pm

Position Overview
Under direct supervision, provides highly responsible administrative duties for the City Manager by composing memorandums, letters and other documents, completing special projects as assigned, providing customer service support to internal and external customers, maintaining historical records and assisting with departmental budgetary responsibilities. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
Essential Job Functions

Performs a wide variety of highly responsible and confidential administrative duties for the City Manager. Collects information on operational and administrative projects as requested; tracks issues from conception to completion and informs the City Manager of the findings. Prepares comprehensive reports or manuals; composes responses and written correspondences to residents, City Council and City employees regarding various policies and issues. Provides desk, telephone and overall administrative support for the City Manager's Office.

Coordinates City Manager's calendar, schedules appointments, sets up meetings, follows up with other staff at the request of the City Manager. Processes and files official policies and procedures; maintains all City Manager files and records. Assists in the preparation and coordination of agenda items, resolutions, ordinances as needed by the City Manager. Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the City Manager's office budget; meets with the City Manager periodically to review expenses, projected needs and budget status. Completes all AFP's, FPO's, and signs AFP's up to $1000; monitors procurement transactions for budget/purchasing compliance; maintains/reconciles petty cash accounts; and processes accounts payable/invoice actions. Maintains time sheets and prepares departmental payroll.

Serves as a liaison between the City Manager and employees. Plans and coordinates travel arrangements, conference registrations and retreats for the City Manager. Prepares monthly anniversary cards for employees. Maintains general office supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of this position, as is the ability to create and maintain professional, harmonious working relationships with others.
Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED, and five years progressively responsible administrative work in a municipal setting. An Associates Degree in Business or Office Management is highly desirable.
Other Requirements
Valid driver's license required. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee within two working days of receipt.
