The Opportunity
A visionary founder at the helm of a private, high-growth company is seeking a sharp, solutions-oriented Executive Assistant to serve as a strategic partner and operational anchor. This is a deeply trusted role supporting an entrepreneurial leader whose work spans multiple ventures and disciplines.
An entrepreneurial leader with a fast-paced, idea-rich portfolio is looking for a sharp, strategic Executive Assistant to help turn vision into action. This is a high-impact, high-trust role for someone who thrives in motion-someone who brings calm to complexity, creates order without being asked, and knows how to support a driven founder without slowing them down.
If you thrive in high-performance environments, move quickly without sacrificing detail, and can confidently support someone who operates on intuition and vision-you may be exactly who we're looking for.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the founder's point of leverage-owning logistics, scheduling, travel, and key communications
- Bring order to an ever-changing calendar; reorganize and reprioritize independently, without waiting for instruction
- Track multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Draft executive briefings, summaries, and updates to keep information flowing and aligned
- Coordinate high-level meetings, content development, and strategic initiatives
- Manage sensitive information with care, discretion, and professionalism
- Build rapport and maintain clear communication with the founder's family members-including spouse and adult children-as well as close associates and long-standing personal contacts
- Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior partners, creatives, and advisors
- Apply modern tools (AI, productivity platforms, design software) to improve efficiency and support creative execution
- Operate with urgency, precision, and a calm presence-no matter what's unfolding
What You Bring
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing complex, unstructured schedules-especially for high-energy or founder-type personalities
- Confidence navigating ambiguity and driving clarity without constant input
- Professional presence, discretion, and sound judgment in sensitive or high-trust situations
- A high degree of emotional intelligence, personal resilience, and the ability to stay grounded in environments where expectations shift quickly and feedback can be direct
- Strong interpersonal skills-you can build trust across personal and professional networks, including with family members and long-term associates
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Fluency in tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AI platforms, design software (e.g., Canva or Adobe), and workflow systems
- A proactive mindset-you anticipate, adapt, and act before you're asked
- Comfort working long hours, being on-call, and supporting across personal and professional domains
- Willingness to travel and relocate to Portland, OR
Preferred Experience
- Background supporting senior executives, founders, or public-facing leaders
- Experience in entrepreneurial, media, creative, or high-growth business environments
- Exposure to pitch deck development, presentation design, or marketing content creation
- A mix of analytical strength and creative intuition
Work Environment
The founder moves quickly, works intuitively, and values partners who can match that rhythm. You'll need to manage shifting priorities, operate without handholding, and build trust through clear communication and follow-through.
This role is part of a long-standing, trusted inner circle-but the speed and scope of work today calls for a new level of fluency in technology, operations, and creative execution. Comfort in a fast-paced, founder-led, and family-connected environment is essential.
How to Apply
This role calls for clarity, creativity, and a calm hand under pressure. To apply, please submit the following:
1. Your Resume
Show us your track record-highlight the impact, not just the titles.
2. One-Page Executive Briefing Memo
Prepare the founder for a meeting with:
- Who: Jamie Teal, Managing Partner at Teal Ventures
- When: Monday at 10 AM
- Why: She's considering a $5M investment in a new initiative
- Note: They've never met. No prior briefing.
Your memo should include:
- Jamie's background and business focus
- Key topics to lean into-or avoid
- Rapport-building cues or smart questions
- Personal tidbits that help build connection
Format it as if you're handing it to a fast-moving exec-crisp, relevant, actionable.
3. Your "Why"
In a short, creative format of your choice (written, video, audio, slides, etc.), tell us:
- Why do you want this role?
- Why are you a strong fit?
- What do you bring that no one else does?
