About the Position
The anticipated salary range for this position will be $68,501 - $75,344.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Department of Health and Human Services is looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing professional to provide daily executive administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer. This position requires someone who can juggle multiple tasks and has an appreciation for the complex back-office operations that are required to run a large County Department providing direct health and social services to the residents of Montgomery County.

What You'll Be Doing
This position is the primary administrative support for the Chief Operating Officer.
  • This includes supporting directly for those Chiefs for scheduling group meetings, preparing memos, and other administrative functions as well as coordination of overall document tracking and routing for the service area.
  • Ensuring the functioning of the office itself is smooth and performing duties such as monitoring of interpreter requests from the virtual portal and purchasing and invoice review under the guidance of the Chief.
  • Acting as the primary "face" of the Chief for many seeking assistance and therefore must understanding the work of the service area and how to route clients or others.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Five (5) or more years of administrative aide experience preferably at the executive level.
Education: Graduation from high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State

of Maryland.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted.

Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences

The followng preferred criteria will be used as for selecting candidates to interview:
  • Five or more years of administrative aide experience at the executive level.
  • Experience interacting with the public with good customer service skills.
  • Experience using ERP/Oracle financial systems or similar financial systems.
  • Proficient in using all Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Experience preparing written memos and other documents; good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with using and scheduling meetings via online platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Join Me, etc.

Leave Benefits

Our generous leave package starts with non-MLS permanent and term employees earning 15 days of sick leave and 15 days of annual leave in their first year, as well as up to three additional personal days each calendar year. Retirement Benefits

All employees can also participate in a supplemental retirement plan, the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, to contribute even more to their retirement goals.

Montgomery County employees are eligible to participate in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Participants who meet all requirements may qualify for forgiveness on the remaining balance on their Direct Loans after making 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time in a qualifying public service position. Free Mass Transit Benefit
