Department Description: This role involves minimal 1st assist time as there are 2 fellows on service. Approximately 50% of the time is spent in the ICU. There is no clinic. Duties may include rounding with heart failure/transplant, ICU, and mechanical circulatory support. Collaborating with physicians, surgeons, APP colleagues, and other clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient management. This includes taking histories, performing physical examinations, peri-operative planning, coordinating with outside providers and primary care providers, responding to changes in patient status, providing prescriptions, evaluations, referrals, ordering diagnostic tests/treatments, patient and family education, arranging follow-up appointments, and engaging in any approved privileges.
