Marketing and Communications oversees the strategy and management of all communications and marketing efforts. By collaborating with colleges and business units, we deliver creative solutions and expert consultation to effectively execute initiatives that elevate the brand and reputation of the College. Our stakeholders include current and prospective students, alumni, donors, employees, media, and other key audiences.


Events Associate plans, develops, and directs events that support the strategic goals and objectives of the Dean and the College of Law. Responsibilities include event objectives and requirements, budgets, vendor contracts and management, transportation, facilities, catering, signage, communications equipment, and other aspects of events. This position will be responsible for meeting with each college leader/sponsor of event, determining the type, level, quality, feel, theme of the event and will continually check in with the college sponsor. The individual must be able to use tracking software to manage events. Other duties include providing excellent customer service, securing volunteer assistance from within the college to support each event, coordinating with all programs and assisting with arrangements for college guests and visitors.


Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in event planning or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, strong oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment. The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.


Desired:

4 years of experience in event planning in higher academics and working knowledge of event tracking software.

Additional Details:

The target hiring range is $55,100-$72,400 annually. Actual salary will fall within this range based on the candidate's qualifications, internal equity, and the unit's available budget.
