Job Purpose: This position is responsible for the planning and execution of professional and compelling special events, food drives and other related activities to raise funds, food and awareness for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. This includes representing the Food Bank in the community, developing relationships with businesses, faith-based organizations, schools and other entities. The Events & Food Drive Coordinator fosters a positive image to encourage companies and volunteers to make the Food Bank of Northern Nevada their philanthropy of choice. This position coordinates with all other key members of the Food Bank management team and staff. This role will serve 40% to Event and 60% Food Drives (depending on the time of year).
Special Conditions or Certifications of Employment: - Valid Nevada driver's license and proof of insurance.

Required Education and Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience with event planning.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service.
- Knowledge of local vendors to secure arrangements, services and goods.
- Experience with budget development and management.
- Experience with general accounting and business procedures.
- Donor management skills a plus.
- Excellent computer skills required including competency with database, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
Preferred Skills & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or related field is desirable.
- Previous experience with a nonprofit organization is desirable.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to: - Create, plan and execute the Food Bank's signature fundraising events, including volunteer events and internal employee events under direction of Director of Marketing & Communications;
- Coordinate logistics and details all second and third party events and food drive opportunities, working to ensure each meets minimum fundraising, brand and mission goals and guidelines;
- Coordinate logistics and details for employee, donor and volunteer cultivation events as support for various FBNN team members;
- Coordinate and communicate event objectives, timeframes, budgets, stakeholders and all appropriate event follow-up;
- Strategize with development staff on utilizing special events as donor engagement opportunities and for new donor prospect identification;
- Work with food drive donors to maximize their success and when possible, encourage the use of the virtual food drive option.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential event sponsors and vendors in coordination with overall FBNN development efforts, working closely with the Corporate Development Officer
- Engage food drive and event donors personally including off-site meetings, tours, and customer service activities such as personally deliver/pick up a barrel when necessary;
- Ensure that food and fund drive materials are professional, compelling and appropriate for sponsorship participants;
- Prepare budgets for all events and work closely with FBNN finance and database teams to ensure accurate billing and deposit activity;
- Engage co-workers, volunteers and committee members to ensure compelling and inclusive events;
- Maintain a positive work environment by conducting all communications with clients, visitors, colleagues, co-workers and supervisors in a professional, friendly and helpful manner;
- Conduct all job duties with appropriate confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. Days and hours may vary from normal schedule when program schedule adjusts or other special events arise.
Travel: Local travel to various events may be required.
Salary Description
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
