We are partnering with long-time, Portland, OR client to recruit an Events Project Coordinator to join their team on a temporary bases through the summer and into early fall. This organization has a long calendar of events scheduled, primarily focused on community engagement, and is looking to bring on interim support during this busy period. This is NOT an event planning role, but will instead be focused on facilitating the seamless execution of a variety of events. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to make sure event project milestones are met and timelines are maintained, and will ensure smooth execution through these strategic management efforts. You will monitor communication with relevant internal teams and vendors, and will provide post-event debriefs and surveys. Additionally, you will be asked to support day-of execution as needed, so this role will include some off-hours or weekend work. To be a fit, you should bring 3+ years of events experience or relevant project coordination for events execution specifically.
This team makes their contract staff feel right and home. They are a Portland staple and have an excellent reputation in the community. This is a fully onsite role in NW Portland that will also require commuting to the company's events around the large Portland Metro Area. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week contract role, set to be 3+ months. Pay ranges from $28 to $33 an hour, depending on relevant experience, and you'll have access to medical, dental, vision and 401(K) benefits as an LHH contractor.
You will:
- Jump in to the department to drive seamless execution and communication around pre-planned events, primarily in the community engagement space
- Manage timelines, budgets and communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors with the goal of creating seamless event experiences
- Attend events, supporting set-up, take-down and other logistics day-of, occasionally outside of business hours or on weekends
- Drive post-event communication, receiving feedback and communicating findings to the larger events team
- Facilitate communication across the organization, externally and with vendors and for the department via email
- Support the department in a variety of ad-hoc projects and responsibilities
Your experience should include:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in events or a similar role with a strong events focus
- Experience supporting event execution and logistics day-of, and a comfort traveling around the larger Portland Metro Area
- Excellent project and process management skills with the ability to add value to internal teams and streamline pre-, post- and day-of event touchpoints and goals
- Experience in project management and/or event planning software
- Availability to work occasional off-hours or weekend events, as needed
