Overview

The Server, Field Level - Event Day will deliver exceptional hospitality to guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment during all MLS Home matches at Subaru Park. This is an event-based position, requiring flexibility and a focus on providing top-notch food and beverage service. The role involves ensuring that all guest needs are met efficiently and professionally throughout the event, while maintaining a clean and organized service area. There are typically 18-25 events per year, including all MLS Home matches and other events, making this a dynamic and engaging opportunity.

This role pays an hourly rate of $14, plus tips.

Responsibilities
  • Gathering Required Items: The server is responsible for collecting all necessary items and supplies needed for their shift, including but not limited to menus, service carts, beverages, utensils, napkins, drinkware, and other event-specific materials. This ensures they are fully prepared to provide seamless service throughout the event.
  • Event Space Setup: Prior to guest arrival, servers assist in setting up the event space, which includes arranging tables, chairs, linens, and place settings, ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and ready for service. They also ensure food and beverage stations are properly stocked and aligned with event specifications.
  • Customer Service & Interaction:
    • Maintain friendly and professional contact with guests, anticipating and meeting their needs.
    • Handle social interactions with guests, ensuring their experience is enjoyable.
    • Respond to complaints or inquiries from customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operational Tasks:
    • Maintain inventory of both food and beverage stations.
    • Keep event areas and front-of-house staging areas tidy and organized.
    • Ability to work independently during slower periods.
  • Safety & Cleanliness:
    • Maintain strict sanitation standards, ensuring all service areas, food stations, and equipment are clean and safe for guest use.
    • Follow safety protocols and help maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Adhere to all health and safety regulations while handling food and beverages.
  • Attendance & Punctuality:
    • Must be punctual and demonstrate consistent attendance.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work while maintaining a strong attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English are required, along with a solid understanding of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). A customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude is essential to provide exceptional service and foster strong relationships with guests and team members.
  • Availability: Must be available to work ALL scheduled events, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in catering, events, banquets, or restaurants preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Certifications: RAMP Certification (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive attitude toward co-workers, managers, volunteers, and guests.
Physical Requirements & Flexibility:
  • Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6 hours) during shifts, ensuring the efficient delivery of service and maintaining event areas.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform tasks that require bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching with arms, legs, and body.
  • Endurance and Stamina: This role requires physical endurance and stamina to support event setups, guest interactions, and general operational tasks throughout the venue.
  • Outdoor Work Environment: Comfortable working in an outdoor setting during all weather conditions, including rain, heat, or cold, as necessary for event service and coordination.
  • Flexible Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
