JobDescription: Reportingto the European Senior Search Manager, the European Retail SearchManager creates and deploys the European Pet Nutrition DigitalRetail Search strategy. This role is critical in maximising theexposure and performance of the Mars online Petcareportfolio.
The European Retail Search Manager defines,guides the execution of, and measures the performance of self-serveonsite programmatic-bought retail media strategy and Organic Searchwith our European eCommerce customers (Amazon & Zooplus), localmarket key customers, and cross-market searchinitiatives.
The role is critical insupporting the implementation of the regional Retail MediaStrategy, working with the Head of Retail Media, building 'bestpractice' capability in our market clusters and our DigitalBusiness Unit (improving media performance) and customer engagement(improving mediaaccess).
What are welooking for? Priorexperience managing Retail Paid (/Retail Media) & OrganicSearch activities in an agency environment and/or largebusiness.
Strong commercialunderstanding ofeCommerce
Deep understandingof Paid & Organic Search; algorithms, engines and optimisationfor both Paid and NaturalSearch.
Experience withmanaging Amazon media, directly or indirectly (viaagency).
Ability tobenchmark market best practices in search and help markets deploythem
Good communicationskills to educate stakeholders on all levels & report acrosskey metrics
Good mix ofanalytical/conceptual skills to understand and then optimise searchperformance
Proven projectmanagement skills, attention to detail and exceptionalorganisationalskills
Ability toeffectively influence cross borders in a matrixenvironment
Therole will require a high level of Digital Search subject matterexpertise, technical leadership, and project management skills tomanage various expertise-based search projects, processes, andstrategies.

Manage strategicpartners across priority markets in Europe to drive self-serveonsite paid search campaigns for Amazon, Zooplus and localcustomers
Build a clearcontact strategy with key retailers and to understand our customersearch algorithms to drive SEO / OrganicSearch.
Identify "whitespace" search opportunities forMars
Work with Mars and/ orexternal agencies to ensure the right capability & tools are inplace to deliver this SearchStrategy
Lead, inspire andmotivate the organisation behind this SearchStrategy
RetailPaid Search:
Leadthe agency relationships for the region to drive paid search plansand projectexecution.
Provide thecustomer team with data-based search performance insights,continuously align business priorities and how these translate tosearch actions.
Maintain andevolve the existing processes, templates, tools and reports inplace for effectively managing, evaluating, and continuouslyimproving the paid searchactivities
Execute tests,collect and analyse data, identify trends and insights in order toachieve maximum short-term ROI and structurally improve long-termaccount performance.
Managecampaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs andreconcilingdiscrepancies
Retail OrganicSearch:
Work withthe Customer Development Managers, Ecom Content Managers, andAcceleration Managers to define methodology and processes and theexecution of priority projects; optimise copy, taxonomy, andproduct pages.
Build ourcapability in creating a keyword library and continuously updatingthis with keyword discovery, expansion andoptimisation
Retail Searchanalysis &measurement:
Work with theDigital Analysts, Acceleration Managers, and agencies to track,report, and analyse digital shelf analytics for natural and paidsearch
Provide periodicinsights into our performance and how we are continuously evolvingour Organic and paid self-serve onsite search plans in line withindustry trends and retailer searchengines
Drive measurementstandardisation of onsite programmatic-bought retail mediaactivities
Drivecollaboration with off-site retail media and in-store andnon-self-serve online retailmedia
Research and analysecompetitor search performance, strategy andactivities
Define searchanalysis requirements and work with global teams to build therequired functionality/views of the Global Dashboardingsolution.
MarketTrends
Monitor andcommunicate relevant market trends to internal and externalstakeholders
Develop andensure these key trends are capitalised on and built into Mars'ongoingstrategy.
Develop/understandGlobal and Local Category best practices and transfer knowledge toEurope for implementation. Transfer European Search success toGlobal and LocalTeams.
