- Technical Leadership:
- Define and implement ETL architecture, standards, and best practices.
- Select and manage ETL tools and technologies (e.g., Informatica, SAP BODS, Tableau, Unix, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Monitor and optimize ETL job performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Oversee data quality checks and validation processes throughout the ETL pipeline.
- Project Management:
- Lead ETL projects from initiation to deployment, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for ETL initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data analysts, business users, database administrators) to ensure data integration needs are met.
- Team Management:
- Mentor and guide ETL developers on technical best practices and problem-solving.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Recruit and hire new ETL developers as needed.
- Data Governance:
- Establish data quality standards and metrics to monitor data integrity.
- Implement data security protocols to protect sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
Required Skills and Experience: - Strong technical expertise in ETL concepts and tools: Deep understanding of data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques, proficiency in at least one major ETL tool.
- Database knowledge: Expertise in SQL querying and database design (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Programming skills: Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java) can be beneficial.
- Data warehousing knowledge: Understanding of data warehouse architecture and data modeling concepts.
- Project management skills: Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring complex ETL projects.
- Communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
