We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Estimator to lead bid preparation and cost analysis for healthcare and commercial construction projects. This role is central to winning work and ensuring accurate pricing from pre-construction through contract award.

Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for healthcare, commercial, and institutional projects (both public and private)

  • Review drawings, specifications, and RFP documents to perform quantity take-offs

  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids

  • Lead pre-bid meetings and communicate closely with project management and executive teams

  • Develop value engineering solutions and identify project risks

  • Track historical cost data and market trends to ensure competitive pricing

  • Participate in hand-off meetings to ensure smooth project execution


Profile

You're a numbers-driven, analytical thinker who brings a deep understanding of NYC construction pricing and market trends. You're proactive, deadline-driven, and confident in working closely with internal and external stakeholders.


  • 5+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects in New York City

  • Strong background in healthcare, institutional, or life sciences projects

  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, ProEst, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff)

  • In-depth knowledge of local subcontractor market and pricing structures

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
