The Estimator plays a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for projects based on construction documents, blueprints, and project specifications. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can analyze project requirements, perform quantity takeoffs, and assist in budgeting to ensure projects are completed within financial parameters while mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction documents and blueprints to understand project specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs to determine the necessary materials and labor costs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in developing project budgets based on estimates and client requirements.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and propose mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers to align estimates with project schedules.
- Utilize Excel and other software tools for data analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction documents and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoff and budgeting processes.
- Familiarity with risk analysis techniques and project management principles.
- Excellent scheduling skills and an ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Excel and other relevant software.
