We're excited to share that we have partnered with a leading company in the landscaping industry who is actively looking to hire an Estimator. This Estimator, will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating plans, bid specifications, and more all in a timely manner. Must have prior experience estimating all costs for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors and more. The Estimator will be constantly communicating with clients, visit jobsites, and work closely with team members.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings and plans to perform accurate material and scope take-offs.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to develop and refine project scopes and proposals.

  • Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Clarification (RFCs), value engineering (VE) options, and other project-related documentation as needed.

  • Gather and organize all material and subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance with contract documents, and assist in project buyout. Maintain organized records and files for all documentation.

  • Analyze project scopes, drawings, and specifications, identifying any inconsistencies, issues, or potential concerns related to scheduling, site logistics, or other factors.

  • Input bid data into the company's estimating spreadsheet and collaborate with the senior estimator for review and feedback.

  • Develop competitive bid strategies by analyzing scope, pricing, margins, competitor behavior, and project costs to improve win rates.

  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Conduct site visits to assess site conditions including access, soil quality, grading, and logistical challenges that may affect project costs.

  • Review proposal requirements and bid forms to ensure complete and compliant submissions.

  • Track and document all bid requests, revisions, and addenda throughout the bidding process.

  • Prepare detailed scope letters including project-specific qualifications and exclusions.

  • Manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong multitasking and time management skills.

  • Enter finalized budgets into accounting software based on estimated costs and associated components.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in landscaping, concrete, site work, or general construction.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and AutoCAD is a strong advantage.

  • Background in landscaping and/or masonry is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and team collaboration.

  • Highly analytical and organized, with the ability to produce accurate, timely estimates in a fast-paced environment.
