Involve Recruitment are in search of a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator for our client a commercial new build and refurbishment contractor. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and budgeting phases of various projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately calculated and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to evaluate project specifications and requirements effectively.
MUST BE CANDIDATES BASED IN SOUTH WALES.
Duties
- Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate estimates for materials, labour, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data relevant to the estimation process.
- Develop comprehensive cost control strategies to monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimates for management review.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Update estimates as necessary based on changes in project scope or market conditions.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of cost control practices is essential; familiarity with industry standards is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
