We are currently searching for an
Estimating Systems Manager to join our Estimating Team located at
High Concrete in Denver, PA. This is a 1st shift position starting at XXXX at ou Denver, PA Plant.
The
Estimating Systems Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the estimating system for High Concrete Group LLC. This role will require the person to interface and collaborate with all estimating team members, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Fabrication Management and Information Technology technical staff, Purchasing and Accounting. The qualified person will also serve as an estimator as time and business conditions warrant.
Essential Job Functions:- Documents and maintains policies, procedures, standards and timelines for the estimating system.
- Develops and maintains process maps by operation and/or product type to insure updated information is captured in future estimates.
- In conjunction with IT, insure that estimating systems interface accurately and effectively with other labor and time collection systems such as Kronos and SAP.
- Enhance current and future estimating systems features to insure automation is integrated to the extent possible.
- Create and verify that the system is capable of generating estimates which reflect the complexity and special finishes or requirements often inherent in an engineer to order environment.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Shipping, and Field Operations to insure that the system is capable of efficiently uploading offline estimates which are required to support data entry into SAP.
- Assess impact of adding or modifying parametric references to existing software program.
- Defines new products or estimating procedures and implements them in accordance with the estimating system's requirements.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an estimating program for bidding jobs with drawings containing minimal detail.
- Determines how new products or product variations not addressed by the estimating system may be accurately included in the Sales estimate.
- Provides training and support to estimating system users.
- Serves as the estimating system's expert to resolve application interface issues.
- Coordinates the efforts related to business function's issues relating to the estimating system's modifications and maintenance.
- Maintains expertise of currently supported technologyPerforms regular audits and analyses of the estimating system to assure accurate calculations and data integrity.
Other Job Functions:- Prepares project estimates as assigned by the Manager of Estimating
- Develops and prepares data analysis.
- Completes required training seminars to develop and maintain required skills necessary for the job.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Manager of Estimating
Experience, Training, and/or Education Required:- BS degree (Engineering, Computer Science or Math preferred.)
- Experience in an Engineer to Order work environment.
- Experience using Microsoft operating systems and software applications.
- Demonstrate ability to implement process improvements using application software programs.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Experience in utilizing estimating software such as Bid to Win, etc
