Our team works closely with high school students and their families to craft compelling narratives and impactful applications.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an Essay Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editing personal statements, college essays, and supplemental essays, resumes and letters of recommendation for undergraduate applications, and should be familiar with the nuances and expectations of the US, UK, and/or Singapore university admissions process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brainstorm and provide constructive feedback to help students strengthen their narrative and storytelling.
- Edit and refine college application essays for clarity, tone, grammar, structure, and impact.
- Should be able to implement conceptual and line editing as and when required.
- Maintain the student's authentic voice while ensuring the content meets high academic and admissions standards.
- Coordinate with counselors and students to meet essay deadlines.
- Handle multiple essays across different application platforms (Common App, UCAS, university-specific portals, etc.).
- Build and edit student resumes & activity lists for college admissions.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of editing undergraduate college application (US/UK/SG) essays is a plus and candidates who possess the same will be given preference
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for storytelling
- Ability to work independently and manage timelines effectively
- Past experience working with students or in education consulting is a plus
- Knowledge of thesis writing, research, literature review, and academic writing is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Education, Psychology, or humanities-related fields
