DescriptionHead e-Sports Coach Midway University is seeking a full-time head coach to lead its eSports program. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Athletic Director.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Recruiting to achieve roster goals, competitive success, and academic performance in accordance with admissions procedures and scholarship requirements.
- Organizing, scheduling, and leading daily practice sessions, game plan preparation and strategy, competitions, and off-season sessions.
- Coordinating logistics for competitions, including but not limited to roster management, scheduling, video, marketing, and statistics.
- Supporting academic progress, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship behavior.
- Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coach and program volunteers.
- Budgeting, fundraising, promoting and marketing the program.
- Adhering to Midway University and any appropriate governing body policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated coaching experience is required. Collegiate experience and recruiting experience are preferred.
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, strategies used within the eSports community.
- Familiarity with and working knowledge of eligibility rules, along with a strong commitment to compliance, are essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, in particular evenings and weekends.
- This position will require a background and driving record check.
