Job Description Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities. These include: Assistance with activities of daily living, comfort care and nutritional support. Performance of selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed. Indirect patient care activities include maintaining a clean safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and data collection as pertinent to the patient population. Transports patients in hospital observing safety guidelines. Maintains advanced transport medical knowledge and abilities. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies preferred. Experience: One year EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic experience preferred. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic (required) and maintains National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP, and ACLS required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year from date of hire.
