A well-established crane company has paired with gpac to find a few Technicians to help maintain their fleet. This position will require working in the shop with the opportunity to advance and get a company truck to begin working in the field.

Diesel Technicians Responsibilities:


  • Performs basic diagnostics and both major and minor repairs.
  • Accomplish electrical system repairs.
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Team player and people person who can communicate effectively with customers and personnel.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations while executing work assignments.
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties.

Diesel Technician Qualifications:


  • 3-5 years of Diesel Mechanic experience with brands such as: International, Volvo, Hino, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Cummins Engines, Detroit Diesel Motors.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical with the ability to learn multiple engines.
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Capable of operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 100 lbs. repeatedly.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
  • Having own set of tools
  • Highly qualified candidates may possess additional skills including welding, fabrication, towing experience, CDL, forklift certification.
