Job Description
A top construction client is looking for a Mechanic to join their Equipment Branch for a direct placement opportunity. The main responsibilities are split up: 80% fixing/servicing broken equipment and 20% mentoring/cleaning/paperwork. They should be experienced managing inventory and ordering necessary parts and supplies to complete repairs, overhauling components (i.e. engines, transmissions, undercarriages, electrical systems, cooling and braking systems), and using computerized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical problems and applying corrective actions. The individual will work on a team of mechanics that are more junior and serve as a mentor/lead mechanic. The ideal candidate would have around 7-10 years of experience as a mechanic dealing with the maintenance of large construction machinery and equipment.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10+ years of mechanic experience
- Heavy equipment down to small generators/pressure washers
- Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors components and accessories (gasoline, diesel, propane, electric, and natural gas)
- Ability to diagnose problems and solutions quickly
- Willingness to help mentor fellow coworkers.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Sun belt, pneumatics
- Certified welder
- Certifications (certified tech or certified welder)
- Bobcat and brand skid steers
- Experience with Concrete specific machinery is a plus: Trowel machines, soffcutt saws, drum vacuums
- Vehicle and Semi tractor/trailer experience
