Job Purpose


Responsible for designing, following manufacture and processing of stamping dies for North American mass production facilities with outputs in the form of 3D models while working closely with customers and internal team members to ensure high quality parts and production stability.



Key Accountabilities


  • Lead design of complex new model stamping dies utilizing CAD software
  • Identify and lead improvements or countermeasure tooling related problems during die builds, trials, and mass production
  • Leading and setting processing for new model panels for manufacturability
  • Design Project Leader of stamping tools for complex new model projects
  • Follow and check in house and supplier designs
  • Installation of stamping tools at North American plants
  • Lead category improvement projects that impact multiple Group and across the company
  • Actively mentor and lead associate development activity
  • Influences and takes initiative to develop Group methods and improve processes


Qualifications, Experience and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • CAD software experience
  • Mechanical/manufacturing knowledge


Workstyle


  • 50% office environment: sitting for extended periods and working on PC equipment
  • 40% manufacturing environment: PPE required at all times in manufacturing environment, standing for prolonged periods (up to 8hrs), occasionally lifting up to 40lbs, occasionally working inside injection machines, potential exposure to heat, occasional exposure to dust, oil or grease
  • Up to 10% travel required, including international (Japan, Canada, Mexico)
