POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for leading and designing cross-technology release management, process design, optimization and policy. Release management oversees the process by which the Epic production environment is updated, upgraded and maintained. The release engineer is the critical liaison between application development and production for release management control. As a release engineer you are expected to develop, analyzes, and maintains tools that support and automate processes for software release. Provide internal project management and status updates. Writes installation scripts and programs for installation and products. Organizes and schedules a variety of major and/or complex computer system tasks, including programming, in a timely and proficient manner and in compliance with departmental and University Health policies and procedures. Individual must maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and other UH staff and perform other duties as assigned or defined in the performance evaluation and in the UH policies and procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Four years' college level work toward a degree in computer science or data processing or the equivalent in experience or training is required. Bachelor's degree in one of the above areas is preferred. Minimum five-year's experience in a related field is required. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred. Experience conducting release and environment readiness reviews, Milestones reviews, and business go/no-go reviews. Work experience is required, using one or more of each of the following:

Applications: Epic, PeopleSoft, Lawson or any ERP system, Softmed, 3M, Onbase, Portal, Soft Lab, Pharmacy, RIS, Eclipsys, Quavodex
Databases: Oracle, Mumps, SQL, Sybase
Operating Systems: Windows 2008, 10, UNIX, Cache
