We are looking for a Environmental Review Officer to join our dynamic lending team. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your environmental risk management skills in a financial context, contributing to our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental risk assessment and a keen understanding of the financial industry. You will be responsible for conducting environmental reviews and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and integrating environmental considerations into our broader risk management strategy. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental risk management or a related field.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive environmental reviews and risk assessments on a regular basis.
• Ensuring that our business practices comply with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
• Developing and implementing strategies to mitigate environmental risks, in collaboration with other members of the risk management team.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in environmental legislation and best practices, and communicating these to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborating with departments across the organization to integrate environmental considerations into our broader business strategy.
• Preparing regular reports on environmental risks and our performance in managing these.
• Providing training and guidance to other staff members on environmental risk management.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in lending, risk management or a related field.
• A degree in business, finance, or a related discipline.
• A professional qualification in environmental risk management would be highly advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of environmental legislation and standards, particularly as they relate to the financial industry.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex information and draw accurate conclusions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in relevant software, such as GIS and risk assessment tools.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
