Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Primary Purpose:
This role ensures compliance with all environmental regulations and internal standards across three manufacturing campuses, while also serving as a resource to client distribution centers. The position oversees environmental programs related to air, water, waste, chemical safety, and fire prevention. It plays a key role in implementing corporate environmental initiatives, driving sustainability efforts, and supporting regulatory reporting and training. Reports to the QHSE Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees key environmental programs including air and water permitting, ISO 14001 certification, recycling, waste-to-landfill reduction, digital SDS administration, and fire risk/loss prevention systems.
Conducts environmental audits, site inspections, and sampling to ensure operations align with local, state, and federal regulations. Investigates environmental incidents, determines root causes, and implements corrective actions.
Interprets and applies standards from OSHA, EPA, DHEC, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, ISO, etc., and modifies site procedures as needed to maintain compliance.
Develops and delivers training programs on environmental policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Maintains environmental records and reporting systems.
Assists with monthly corporate EHS data reporting and ensures timely submission of required environmental documentation and participates in cross-functional initiatives and supports broader EHS and facility projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; preference for Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent.
Strong working knowledge of SC OSHA, SC DHEC, and environmental compliance regulations.
Experience managing multiple programs and projects with strong time management and prioritization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities.
Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and training diverse employee groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general digital record-keeping systems.
Valid driver's license; ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
Must adhere to all company safety, conduct, and compliance policies. Overnight travel within the U.S. and periodic travel to Europe may be required.
