Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities: - Coordinate and enforce the subcontractor's safety programs, ensuring alignment with project-specific EHS plans.
- Oversee the safety aspects of high hazard activities including crane operations, fall protection, de-installation, line breaks, tie-ins, lockout/tagout (LOTO), blasting, demolition, pile driving, confined spaces, and work at heights.
- Conduct safety audits and verify compliance with OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
- Ensure all hazardous work activities are properly assessed, planned, and set up with appropriate safety controls in place.
- Work closely with subcontractors and field teams to monitor and support safe work practices on-site.
- Provide daily involvement and oversight during high hazard operations, ensuring safety protocols are followed rigorously.
- Maintain a strong focus on accident prevention and the development of corrective actions when necessary.
- Act as the sole safety professional on-site, managing all aspects of EHS without performing construction/production tasks.
Qualifications: - Education: A recognized safety-related degree, OSHA 500 certification, or other equivalent safety certifications.
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction safety, with at least three (3) years in a management or supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in high hazard work, such as blasting, demolition, crane operations, confined spaces, fall protection, and other specialized construction tasks.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize safety tasks effectively.
Additional Requirements: - Availability to work on-site daily, ensuring safety measures are actively managed and implemented.
- Must be willing to collaborate closely with subcontractors, contractors, and project management teams.
- EHS oversight responsibilities will begin with the prime subcontractor and extend through the project lifecycle, especially during high hazard activities.
