Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining key EH&S programs and procedures and for leading EH&S strategies and compliance in alignment with the company's business needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures and standards
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, safety meetings and risk assessments
- Develop and maintain emergency response and incident management plans
- Manage applicable industrial hygiene programs (respirator, hearing conservation, chemical exposure and ventilation surveys) as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies governing EH&S such as Cal/OSHA, OCFA, OCSD, CUPA, and AQMD
- Develop, coordinate and deliver applicable safety training for employees at all levels.
- Lead toolbox safety talks, safety meetings and awareness campaigns
- Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and injuries
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain incident records and track trends for continuous improvement KPIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university
- A minimum of 5 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience working in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven track record of managing and developing safety programs
- Hazardous waste operations, and emergency response training (HAZWOPER certification)
- DOT/RCRA certification
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
