About the Project:

Princeton University is constructing a new state-of-the-art engineering building. The institution will be designed and constructed to achieve the highest possible level of functionality, durability, and flexibility. Research and teaching will be made visible, and the design will support curricular and co-curricular activities with spaces that are warm, inviting, and inclusive. The building will be organized in a way that provides fluid, intuitive, and convenient pathways to multiple destinations.




About the Role:

As an Entry-Level Engineer at The AKA Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful planning and execution of commercial construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents, you'll gain hands-on experience across all phases of construction-managing timelines, budgets, subcontractors, quality standards, and compliance, while developing your technical and leadership skills.


This position is ideal for recent graduates in Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Technology looking to launch their careers in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.


Relocation is required if a candidate lives outside of the NJ area or driving distance from site. We are looking to hire someone in May 2025 and place them on the project no later than June 2025. This project runs through 2029.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily construction activities with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Support project estimating, budgeting, procurement, and scheduling tasks.
  • Review and manage project documents, including drawings, specs, change orders, and submittals.
  • Resolve field issues and design conflicts as they arise.
  • Assist in writing contracts and purchase orders in line with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality and safety standards.
  • Track project milestones, manage documentation, and support field operations.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of construction processes, materials, and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project scheduling software (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and technical manuals.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in mechanical/electrical systems and fieldwork.
