Description

The Global Supply Chain team at Leidos is excited to announce an opening for an Entry-Level Material Cost Estimator. This role is part of our dynamic Supply Chain Proposal Strategy organization, which adopts a hybrid work structure. You will have the flexibility to work remotely or from our Reston, VA office, depending on your personal preferences and the nature of your tasks. Collaboration is highly encouraged for tasks requiring teamwork.

As an Entry-Level Material Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in gathering customer requirements, managing the RFx process, supporting negotiations, and estimating material costs to secure new business for Leidos. We are looking for a proactive candidate who can take charge of proposals and communicate effectively across various management levels and functional teams.

In this role, you may also engage in Supplier Management, Business Process Re-Engineering, and Procurement Tool deployments. Please note that travel may be necessary for up to 10% of the time based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate material pricing for proposals.
  • Own the request for quote process while adhering to FARs and DFARS regulations.
  • Achieve cost savings and avoidance targets through effective negotiation skills.
  • Conduct data analytics and analyze large data sets to create pricing for Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, and financial teams in a matrixed organization.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree in supply chain, logistics, business management, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel for data analytics tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Basic understanding of IT Hardware, Software, Cloud, Cyber, and XaaS technologies.
  • Familiarity with creating complex solicitations and supporting proposals, as well as conducting moderate complexity price and cost analysis.
  • Demonstrated time management skills under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement, pricing, or subcontracts, particularly in developing RFx's compliant with FAR within tight timelines.
  • Understanding of non-IT materials acquisition, including finished products, raw materials, components, machinery, and test devices.
  • Security clearance is a plus.
  • Interest or experience in data analytics, business intelligence dashboards, and IT project management is preferred.

Pay Range: $44,200.00 - $79,900.00
