Your Responsibilities Position Summary - This is an entry-level role in the Desktop Support Team, directly reporting to the Lead Desktop Engineer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist in the support of all LAN-based networking tasks.
- Help install and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Support installation and maintenance of voice systems, including cabling, phones, headsets, and software.
- Cable new and existing locations for networks, phones, and other equipment.
- Repair or upgrade computer systems as necessary.
- Provide Tier 1 level support for hardware and software technical issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Desktop Support, Desktop Manager, or Lead Desktop Engineer.
Required Qualifications: - Current student or graduate in a computer-related program, or relevant work experience in the field.
- Strong understanding of network routing protocols and their practical application in global networks.
- Experience managing a distributed inventory of network equipment.
- Familiarity with setting up virtual networking using VMware.
- Experience with Cisco and Juniper product lines at both technical and hardware levels.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware like routers, switches, network interface cards, firewalls, and telecom devices.
- Knowledge of VoIP and its support over a production WAN.
- Able to view a computer monitor for several hours at a time.
- Open availability and willingness to work additional hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: - A Bachelor of Science degree in a computer-related field is preferred, or equivalent certifications with related experience.
