Leidos Defense Systems is on the lookout for a passionate
Entry-Level CEMA Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team in Lawton, OK. You'll help create innovative solutions for complex challenges in engineering, spectrum warfare, and defense sectors.
In this role, you will harness your software design and development enthusiasm to design, build, deploy, and maintain mission-critical solutions aligned with our customers' objectives.
Our team typically works in-person in Lawton, where we cultivate an atmosphere of trust, respect, asynchronous communication, creativity, and deep commitment to our customers' missions.
Primary Responsibilities - Collaborate with a team of software engineers to develop offensive and defensive cyber tools for radar, C2, surface-to-air, and artillery systems.
- Create simulations to replicate threat-representative Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) effects and environments.
- Investigate current and future cybersecurity threats to military systems.
Basic Qualifications - Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- BS degree with 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience or MS degree in lieu of experience.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% each year if necessary for moderate travel to testing locations, typically within the continental U.S.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Lawton, OK.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Final Top-Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated experience in software engineering with a strong foundation in software architecture and design.
- Proficiency in Python or C programming languages.
- In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Experience and interest in cybersecurity practices.
- Familiarity with fundamental networking protocols and concepts.
- Knowledge or experience in machine learning and data science.
- Exposure to Agile software development methodologies, CI/CD toolchains, and DevOps (e.g., Atlassian suite, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory).
- Familiarity with tools and products such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, Kali Linux, Wireshark, and networking protocols is a plus.
