Construction Company is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. Overall, the best candidate for this role will be someone who is either entering the workforce post-graduation or has 1-2 years of accounting/finance experience and hoping to expand upon that. Someone who is eager to learn and takes initiative. This individual should be proficient in Microsoft excel and have an educational background in accounting and/or finance. A candidate with QuickBooks and/or Excel Macros experience is a plus. No CPA is required for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Monthly journal entries
- Perform entries within accounting software
- Assist with audit and tax requests
- Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
- Execute tasks related to month end close process
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Other tasks as defined.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with financial report writing and analysis
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and external customers
Experience working with Sage Accounting software and Avalara would be considered plus, but not a requirement
