Job Description:

The Enterprise Solutions Architect - Fuel advances RaceTrac's world class capabilities by applying hands-on architecture to deliver against both Fuel Technology projects and broader organizational goals at RaceTrac. Partnering with technical and business stakeholders, they set the vision and create technology solutions that meet the needs of RaceTrac and its guests. They ensure every solution they create is sustainable by adhering to enterprise technology standards. They are the technical owner of RaceTrac's Fuel Ecosystem including Trading Operations, Optimization, Trucking Logistics and Dispatch, Accounting, Professional Drivers, and other core fuel platforms.

Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture (20%)

• Develop and champion the long-term Fuel technology strategy, ensuring alignment with RaceTrac's organizational goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to set and ensure alignment on Fuel portfolio technology strategy, guiding the evolution of the technology landscape.

• Conduct architecture reviews and technology portfolio assessments to evaluate the current technology landscape, identifying opportunities for optimization and transformation.

• Define and maintain the target-state enterprise architecture and roadmap for technology and solutions across all systems within the Fuel Ecosystem.

• Establish architectural standards, frameworks, and best practices that promote consistency and scalability across the organization.

• Identify and address architectural risks and opportunities at an enterprise level, ensuring the sustainability and scalability of solutions.

• Guide the integration of emerging technologies and industry trends into the enterprise architecture.

Solution Architecture (60%)

• Review incoming project demand to identify architectural implications.

• Partner with business teams to review solution requirements & devise solution options.

• Lead the development of project solution designs, subject to Architecture Board review.

• Lead evaluation of solution and technology decision options using fact-based analysis

• Collaborate with business and IT teams, and facilitate design discussions to achieve consensus

• Produce and maintain detailed and easy to understand technical architecture artifacts.

• Communicate complex technology designs clearly and succinctly in executive level presentations

• Identify architectural risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate decisions are taken.

• Ensure project estimates are informed by design approaches and delivery options.

• Oversee delivery eSorts; guide the team on technical issues to ensure project success.

• Manage and proactively minimize technical debt.
• Ensure designs are holistic and viable as to enable predictable, on-time delivery.

• Ensure resilience, stability, availability, and recoverability, as well as other non-functional requirements, are designed into the platform.

• See, communicate, and devise plans to mitigate risk thru architectural approaches.

• Contribute to assessments of technologies, advising leadership on selection decisions.

• Contribute to and follow principles, standards, and patterns for assigned domain.

• Establish where industry trends and product / platform evolutions may be leveraged.

• Define and evangelize current and target-state architectures and plans to mature.

Partner Collaboration (20%)

• Participate and contribute to communities of practice within RaceTrac.

• Ensure cross-architectural alignment of assigned tech areas with peer areas.

• Engage with the Architecture Board to ensure sound decisions on architectural matters.

• Contribute to the Enterprise Technology Catalog for assigned technology areas.

• Be a coach and mentor to development and operations teammates.

• Be an advisor to business teammates and IT management.

• Liaise with peer technology teams and technology vendors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience, required.

• 5+ years of enterprise and solution architecture experience, required.

• 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise-wide technology solutions, required.

• 3+ years' experience in working with cloud technologies, required (Azure preferred).

• Experience in creating and implementing architecture roadmaps that align with both business and technical goals, required.

• Practical understanding of architectural frameworks and methods, required.

• Strong experience architecting solutions leveraging 3rd party SaaS providers and internal client applications, required.

• Skilled at leading solution architecture designs and producing design artifacts, required.

• Familiarity with Integration tools and patterns, e.g. REST APIs, Service Bus, SOA, required.

• Familiarity with Cloud & DevOps tools and practices (Serverless, IaC, CI/CD), required.

• Experience with data optimization technologies, i.e. Gurobi, preferred.

• Experience with fuel systems technologies, including RightAngle, Samsara, Gravitate, Veeder, and other industry-specific tools, preferred.

• Experience leveraging third-party fuel pricing, weather, and market data providers, such as Argus, OPIS, Platts, preferred.

• Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build consensus among stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams and securing buy-in, required.

• Prior experience using agile methodologies, required.

• Experience and comfort managing indirect teams; scrums, agile cross functional teams, vendor stakeholders, required.

• Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills, required.

• Ability to communicate eSectively with both technical and functional audiences, required.
